Gratitude

Are you conscious of your thought patterns? Self-Awareness in this area goes a REALLY long way in your happiness. I think the best place to begin is to focus on our gratitude habit. What would happen if you CHOSE a response of gratitude instead of anger, frustration, defeat, self-pity? What if when you were feeling really down and defeated you chose to take those moments to practice gratitude? Science says it can do great things for you. It is the consistent practice of gratitude that provides you these benefits.

  1. Better Relationships
  2. Physical Health
  3. Psychological Health
  4. Increased Empathy and Reduced Aggression
  5. Better Sleep
  6. Improved Self-esteem
  7. Mental Strength

Sounds like good enough reasons to me.

How can you make gratitude a habit?

If you are already journaling..(ahem)… Start including a few lines each day to what you are grateful for. Keep it up for 30 days. You’ll be glad you did!

or

Get a pad of sticky notes and each day list 3 – 5 things you are grateful for and put it in a place you see each day. Keep this up for 30 days to make it a habit, and you have a great visual at the end of 30 days.
